Marc-Laurent Bruyas
(1821–1896)
Marc-Laurent Bruyas was born at Lyon on the 7 June 1821, he was a pupil of Frederic Grobon, Thierriat and Bonnefond at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts of Lyon.
From 1857-1895, Bruyas exhibited at the Lyon Salon and from 1863 -1870 at the Paris Salon and the Dijon Salon of 1881. In the Lyonnais tradition, Bruyas painted still lifes of flowers and fruit in oil and gouache.// From 1877 to 1893, Bruyas was the director of a Municipal school of drawing at Lyon.
