Charavel was a French genre painter and portraitist.
He painted many landscapes around Saint-Tropez and completed many religious frescoes in the Aisne.
Paul Charavel is highly collected and features in many prominent private collections. The Museum of Menton, the modern art museum in Saint-Etienne and the Musée Fabre in Montpellier all have paintings by the artist in their collections.
