Nicholas Baudesson

(1611-1680)

Nicolas Baudesson was born at Troyes in 1611. He came from a family of noted painters and chose to be a flower and still life painter, for which he enjoyed considerable success in his field.

Baudesson lived and worked in Paris and also Rome and on the 26 May 1671 Baudesson was admitted to the Academie de Paris and a large number of his flower paintings may be found at Palace of Versailles.

Baudesson never signed his paintings however, there is one recorded example from the collection of Gille Leblanc, dated 14 January 1678.
